Group moved to a week later, but time frame still blocked for today?

I signed up for a specific group, but then 15 minutes before it started. it got moved to a week later. OK, but then why is that hour still blocked out for today so that I can’t sign up to any other groups during part of that timeframe? It makes no sense to penalize a person to not be able sign up for another group when the host moved it to a week later. Seems very unfair. Needs to change.
